At marine cargo we understand the best practices needed to conduct accurate and thorough claims adjusting

What We Do

At Marine Cargo and General Adjusters, we carry out Marine Surveys at the port and final destination, Nairobi or upcountry. We also undertake Surveillance on Motor vehicles, General cargo and Bulk cargo such as fertilizer, cereals etc. In the event of damages, we establish the extent of loss and issue a survey report in which Loss Adjustment would be drawn, to show amount payable in accordance with the Cover Note or Policy conditions applicable.

When damages occur, our surveyors inspect the cargo and establish the extent of loss and then issue survey report. The survey report and our adjustment of loss would be in accordance with the cover issued by the insurers. For example when GIT cover is in place, loss would be limited to damages to or per truck conveyance.

Based on our long years of experience, we have found that a great percentage of  alleged short landed cargo are actually NOT short landed but are either misplaced within the port area or at the port of transshipment. Cargo may also be missing due to cross delivery. Our surveyor would carry out a thorough search at the port for the missing cargo and make a follow up of similar cargo delivered to other various consignee’s in order to secure the missing cargo.
